Well, funny enough I have been working on a project for well over 3 months now and just realized it was a project to post. Apparently under this dark hair dye, a natural blonde still resides.
2010 brought many changes and challenges to my family, one of which being my Grandma Diane's health. She went from lively and active to near death within days. It was a scary time for all us and many difficult months of rehabilitation for her. Right before her health declined, she mentioned the desire to have a Family and Friends Recipe book with at least one from each person. I thought it was a wonderful idea and committed to making this happen by Christmas (originally last Christmas, but now this Christmas. This time I at least have been working on it!). She is on her way to recovery so I'm sure she will enjoy this!
Phase I: Researching recipe book formatting ideas and sizes for cost effective printing as I have a pretty large family
Most sources suggested black and white text with small color imagery. Although I am limited to my computer at work, I chose to use Microsoft Publisher because it was the easiest to manipulate the formatting to fit each recipe's needs.
Phase II: Getting recipes and photos from everybody
With much credit to my superb nagging skills (thanks, Mom) I've managed to collect 16 so far and put them into a layout. I managed to snap a few photos of my own recipes, but I've mostly relied on free Google images.
Phase III. Printing
I haven't decided what type of paper or fastener I plan to use yet. I figure it will be a trial and error process.I'll be sure to post once completed.
Below is a sneak peek of one of the recipe cards (size = 4.25" w x 11" h):

Awesome! Make a copy of it in PDF form too so we can make it available on the internet!
