In the mix of all the planning, we lost my beloved Papaw. About 16 years ago, he and my Grandma relocated back to Wheeling from Phoenix. I always had a great relationship with them growing up, but I feel blessed to have them so much closer during the later part of my life. It was sad to let him go, but given his condition he would have preferred it that way. He went peacefully to Our Lord while watching the NCAA Tournament recap on Sportscenter-a perfect send off. Photo 2 in to the right: Papaw balancing one of his 5 kids. I love this picture because of the moment captured, but also because that kid is actually my Dad.
Photo 3: Papaw and Grandma at my college graduation. I know how proud they both were and the entire day was filled with their classic line "Damnit, Diane. Damnit, Eddie".
As for the wedding: the guest list is complete, invitations are underway (and gorgeous thanks to www.aubreypaints.com. Once they are finished, I will post a pic), reservations made, shoes purchased, etc. etc. etc. I feel like I could write a Twas the Months Before the Wedding version of the classic story. It will be sad not to have Papaw there as it was the one thing he continuous remembered, but I know he and my Gram Bowman will through one helluva wedding party in heaven.
This past weekend, the girls had a Bridal Shower prep party at Kris' mom's house. We ate and drank and ate and drank some more while working on shower favors, prizes and decor. Thanks to the very special women in my life, my shower will be nothing short of spectacular. I'll post pictures after the event April 21st.
On this same evening, A and I found out the offer on what could become our dream home was accepted by seller. Now for 60days of waiting and paperwork... If it is all a success, I will post pictures, but you never know so have to keep it under wraps for now.
To recap, the in 6 months we have been engaged, A and I have been faced with nearly every major life stressor all at once: Changing jobs, planning a wedding/marriage, moving in together, long term injury (yours truly), purchasing a house, and death of a loved one. I've already promised him that if the one remaining life stressor occurs (a baby) I WILL punch him lol Don't worry folks, it won't happen.
