“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”-Carrie Bradshaw

Beautiful Things

I love beautiful things, and genuinely I try to see beauty inside everything. Now to be fair, I love the usual diamonds, leather purses, new shoes, etc. as much as the next gal, but there are those little things that make each day so special. Sunshine. The smell of a new flower. Puppy kisses. My husband picking me up a Dunkin Donuts coffee (despite as he says there is some in our kitchen). Honestly, where would I be without that man, but I digress...

On August 18th, I celebrated one year of marriage with my best friend, lover, and partner in crime. My how the time flies! We just returned from vacation the day prior and spent our anniversary in what some would probably consider an unconventional way. Our day was filled with sleeping in with a bed full of our furry kids, take out food, a 2 hour trip to the bookstore (his gift to me. I love to read. Him, not so much), ice-cream, and then a night filled snuggled on our couch with the fireplace on watching football all night while he  wore his new Steelers adult sized footed pajamas.

Ah, yes now that is the good life!

Marriage is full of beauty in so many different ways it is difficult to explain, but if you are surrounded by marital bliss then you know exactly what I mean. We've been blessed to have family and friends who are lucky enough to find their perfect matches and friends who are on their way down the aisle. Now that I am inside of this lovely little cocoon of love I can't help but to admire love and marriage one of God's greatest examples of beauty.

Truly, all you need is LOVE

*disclaimer: the footed pajamas were my olive branch and gift to him. Honestly, I think it looks ridiculous, but marriage is about sacrifice and all.
