“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”-Carrie Bradshaw

Barbie's Personal Fashion Designer

When I was a kid, Grammy used to make Barbie clothes from scrap fabric she had left over from other projects. Needless to say, my Barbies were the most stylish fashionista on the Island.

After she passed away, Mom and Aunt Cathy spent months cleaning out the house (we come from a long line of "collectors") and stumbled across these. I was so excited to have them, but was unsure what to do with them for awhile. I really wanted to preserve them, but also to display them which ruled out my initial idea to place them in one of my many scrapbooks.

I found the record frame for $2 at the Ohio Thrift store about a year and half ago, but was unsure what to do with it. I spray painted it gold, added white on top, and then distressed it with sandpaper. The background is a combination of wrapping paper and scrap booking sheets. I used photo tabs to in lieu of any adhesives.

The finished frame now hangs in my bedroom where I can be reminded every day of a very special lady the good memories she brought with her.
