“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”-Carrie Bradshaw

Water for Elephants

This book has been on my "to read" list for awhile, but with the movie releasing I had to get on it because I hate nothing more than to watch a movie and then read the book. It is primarily a love story (which I'm quite the sucker for) but it also holds a great plot with really well developed characters. Each of them have a crazy and unique back story which lead them to the harsh circus life during the Great Depression. I especially love Rosie the elephant's personality. Who would have thought an elephant could understand Polish?

The only disappointment is it took me a couple chapters to develop the appearance of the characters in my own mind because all I could picture at first was Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. I've always liked Witherspoon as an actress and Pattinson redeemed himself in my mind after watching him in Remember Me (highly recommended movie), but I still prefer to create my own images as I read.

Overall, great entertaining read that has served as a temporary escape for me lately and has allowed me to actually relax (which isn't my greatest talent-If you know me, you know I never stop but I did stop for this story).
